Peter transferred to Nashville in 1986 as a Business Manager for a Fortune 500 company after stints in Rochester, NY, West Amherst, NY, Wellesley, MA, and Liverpool, NY.  His job entailed responsibility for financial management and budgeting of sales and service offices located in Tennessee (5), Alabama (5), Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS, and Gulf Breeze, FL.  Later, offices in Memphis (2) and Arkansas were added to his responsibilities.  He managed internal financial services such as Real Estate, Fleet, Communications, Accounts Payable, Union Payroll, Administrative services, HR and Field Benefits.

Having travelled to much of the Mid-South, Peter chose to remain in Nashville and has now spent the majority of his adult life living and working in Nashville.

In the early 1990s, Peter earned his BBA degree in Accounting at Middle Tennessee State University (he previously earned a BS degree in Business Administration at Rochester Institute of Technology).  He completed the requirements to become a Certified Public Accountant in Tennessee and "hung out his shingle" and started his accounting business.  Peter's accounting practice focuses on personal financial services through tax planning and tax preparation for individuals, sole proprietors, trusts, and non-profit organizations.

In late 2005, one of his tax clients was starting his own Insurance agency, and invited Peter to join him in insurance sales. Peter had a day-in and day-out view of the work his client put into starting a scratch agency (as in starting from scratch, with no clients).  Peter obtained his Tennessee Insurance license in May 2006 and has been providing insurance solutions to individuals needing a variety of coverages, such as auto, home, life and all the related insurance offerings.  He continues to maintains his tax practice.

Peter met his wife Annette in Murfreesboro at an MTSU Football game tailgate lunch.  They have two adult children who live and work in Nashville.  The Tuttles live in Bradford Hills subdivision located between Nolensville Road and Edmondson Pike, about one mile south of Old Hickory Blvd.  Annette works at a local non-profit which is involved with confidential addiction treatment and counseling.  When not enjoying the company of their two rescue dogs, both Annette and Peter are avid Nashville Predator fans and are Day 1 season ticket holders.  In the summer, they spend time working in the yard and garden (just trying to keep the grass alive and the weeds green!) and visiting with neighbors, exchanging tips on good roofers, electricians, and car repair shops.  Annette and Peter enjoy walking the dogs and talking with neighbors along the way.  Annette enjoys crafting and always having a project.

Peter has always been involved with community and professional groups.  He is a graduate of the Metro Police Citizens Police Academy, has served on the TN/CPA-IRS Tax Liaison Committee (now an alternate) and the TN/CPA-State Dept of Revenue Tax Liaison Committee.  He was a Board Member of the Nashville Ski Club for 12 years and served three terms as President.  He also was a key volunteer and fundraiser for the Blind Skier Program, which benefits students from Metro Public Schools.  He has served as a volunteer United Way Loaned Executive and served as a volunteer fireman for 8 years and as a member of the Underwater Recovery Team before moving to Nashville.  Peter was an alumni advisor for his college National Fraternity, serving as District President, District Vice President, Alumni Association President, and member of the Board of Trust.  In many of his volunteer positions, he has been honored as a dedicated and effective volunteer.  He has been recognized as a Kentucky Colonel, and awarded, the District Presidents Award, President Award (3x), and Outstanding New Member for various organizations, over long stretches of time in the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s.

Peter enjoys competitive and team sports to keep him active.   For most of the 1990s, he was involved with the Nashville Ski Club's ski racing team, and since 2001 he has played Ice hockey locally.
